Newcastle Knights coach Nathan Brown has named a 19-man squad for Sunday’s round six match against the Wests Tigers at Hunter Stadium.

Tariq Sims, who returns from suspension, is named in the starting side with Jacob Saifiti moving onto an extended bench.

Sione Mata’utia (concussion), Danny Levi (back) and Nathan Ross (elbow) will be monitored this week in order to play on Sunday.

The Knights join with NSW Mining to celebrate the mining industries contribution to the Hunter region, which includes running out in a replica mining jersey and inviting local miners to the match.

This is the fourth Voice for Mining Family Day at Hunter Stadium and fans are once again encouraged to join the team in wearing high-vis.

The Allan McMahon shield will be up for grabs in the round six encounter. McMahon played 89 games for the Tigers and was the inaugural coach of the Knights. The two sides have played for the shield since 2003.

Charity partner, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, will land at Hunter Stadium on game day to deliver the match ball.

All three grades are in action, with Reserve Grade kicking off at 11.30am before NYC at 1.45pm and NRL at 4pm.
