Tariq Sims was clearly thrilled to attend the NRL season launch on Thursday afternoon, putting his hand up for a permanent leadership role at the Club.

"Nathan has picked a couple of leaders to represent the Club and I was lucky enough today to come down and be the face of the Knights today," he told NRL.com.

"I feel privileged and it's definitely something I'll never forget."

With speculation of the Club captaincy ongoing, Sims said that there were plenty of candidates for the role.

"We've got Jeremy Smith there, Tyler Randell, Robbie Rochow, blokes like that.

"I'd love to steer the boys around and help out with my leadership skills, but we've got a great bunch of leaders in our team and I'm just one of five."

While there are plenty of inexperienced up-and comers in the team, Sims dismissed the idea that stronger leaderhip was required.

"We've got some great young players coming through with Brock Lamb and the Saifiti boys just to name a few."

"I know their attitude to football and training, and it's something that we need and want around the Club.
