The Newcastle Knights is pleased to announce the appointment of Darren Mooney as the Club’s General Manager Football.
Mooney joins the Knights from the Cronulla Sharks, where he also held the position of General Manager Football.
Mooney will oversee the Knights’ football operations from the juniors through to the NRL, including roster management, governance and team operations.
Following a football restructure, the Club conducted a thorough process to appoint Mooney.
“Darren is a very experienced and highly capable person,” CEO Matt Gidley said.
“The Club is very fortunate to be able to secure his services in the important role of General Manager Football and we look forward to Darren joining our Club.”
Mooney’s start date at the Knights is to be confirmed.
