Tapine was not required to attend court.

EARLIER: Tuesday December 9

Joseph Tapine pleaded not guilty in Newcastle Court today after he was charged for an incident that occurred in September.

Tapine was not required to attend court.

The case has been adjourned.

EARLIER: Thursday November 27

The Club has received confirmation this morning that Joseph Tapine has been charged by police in relation to an incident in September.

The Club has also been made aware that Tapine intends to contest the charge when a court appearance is set.

The NRL Integrity Unit has been notified.

The Club will make further comment once the legal process is complete.

The Newcastle Knights are aware of an incident in September involving graduating NYC player Joseph Tapine.

The NRL Integrity Unit is aware of the matter.

The Club is in no position to make further comment while the investigation continues.
