Aurizon is pleased to announce Lindy Hunt from Dungog Junior Rugby League Club as the winner of the 2014 Volunteer Program.

The award was presented to Lindy for her tremendous contribution to junior rugby league at the annual 2014 Newcastle Knights Presentation Evening in front of more than 400 guests.

The Aurizon Volunteer program received a record number of nominations this year, a wonderful reflection of the many people within the community that go above and beyond to help children of the region play junior sport.

Lindy was endorsed through multiple nominations for the award and was described as ‘an incredible woman who is an amazing ambassador for our great game’.

Lindy, whose tireless efforts have raised much needed funds for Dungog Juniors was also instrumental in a local fundraiser for the Rise for Alex Fund. As part of the evening, Lindy donated a cheque for more than $22,000 to the Rise For Alex Fund on behalf of Dungog Junior Rugby League, a magnificent effort in its own right.

As part of the Vounteer of the Year award, Aurizon will donate $1,000 to Dungog Junior Rugby League as part of the prize.

Aurizon congratulated Lindy Hunt and thanked all volunteers who donate their time to junior Rugby League in Newcastle and the Hunter throughout the 2014 season.
