The Newcastle Knights has finalised preparations for Sunday’s Round 26 match against the St George Illawarra Dragons.

The men in red and blue are expected to line up 1-17 for the Old Boys Day clash at Hunter Stadium.

Always a special occasion, the Knights will be bolstered by the presence of former players and officials for Sunday's final game of the season.

“(Kurt) Gids touched on Old Boys Day earlier today, that we have always managed to put in a good performance and more often than not come up with the win but that doesn’t guarantee us anything,” Beau Scott admitted after training on Saturday.

“We have to go out tomorrow, put in a good performance and hopefully make the old boys watching on proud.”

While the Knights are also set to farewell a number of players as well as coach Wayne Bennett, it was business as usual at Wests Mayfield on Saturday.

“We just have to get on with football,” Scott added.

“We have one game left tomorrow and we don’t want to finish on a sour note.

“We want to finish strongly, especially being Old Boys Day.”
