The Newcastle Knights has named a 17-man team for Sunday’s Round 21 match against the South Sydney Rabbitohs in Cairns.

Coach Wayne Bennett has made one forced change to his 17 who defeated the Sydney Roosters last week, with Jarrod Mullen sidelined due to an abdominal strain.

Captain Kurt Gidley returns from a groin injury to replace Mullen in the halves, alongside Tyrone Roberts.

Sione Mata’utia, Chanel Mata’utia and Jake Mamo are retained as the back three, while the four on the bench are unchanged.

The Knights train in Newcastle on Thursday morning before traveling to Cairns on Friday. The team will train in Cairns on Saturday and finalise preparations for Sunday’s match at Barlow Park.
