As part of the Round 19 Rise for Alex Round, The Footy Show will host its program at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on July 17 in recognition of Alex McKinnon.

More than 5000 people have purchased tickets to the sell out show that will feature appearances from Newcastle identities Paul 'The Chief' Harragon, Andrew Johns and Danny Buderus as well as regular hosts Fatty, Slats, Erin, ‘The Big Marn’ and Beau who will present the show live.

Channel Nine’s The Footy Show will host a telethon during their broadcast on Thursday, with the call centre open from 8.30pm AEST. Telstra will host the call centre with 150 Telstra volunteers and players from several clubs who will be assisting with answering calls during the night.

Although the Newcastle Footy Show is sold out, people can watch The Footy Show on Channel Nine on Thursday at 8.40pm.

Fans can also make donations to the Rise for Alex Fund online here or by texting RiseForAlex to 0498 555 555.

The NRL will donate one dollar to the RiseForAlex Fund for every Rugby League Fan who attends any match during Round 19. 

Fans can make donations by purchasing a RiseForAlex wristband that will be sold at all matches across the RiseForAlex Round (Rounds 19 and 20).
