While on the field the Newcastle Knights celebrated Women in League with a special pink jersey on Sunday, off the field a number women in league were treated to an extra special day at the football.

Wives, girlfriends and mums of the players were treated to chocolates from Darby Street's Coco Monde as well as wine from Draytons as part of the festivities at Hunter Stadium.

Before kick off, Kurt Gidley, Chris Houston, Robbie Rochow, Kade Snowden, James McManus and debutant Joseph Tapine handed a bunch of flowers to their mum for Mother's Day, who joined the guard of honour. 

Knights' Women in League ambassador and country music artist Catherine Britt also performed the National Anthem.

The Harvey Norman Women in League Round celebrates, acknowledges and supports the role women play in the Game, from the grassroots through to the elite, it’s a chance for the Game to simply say thank you.
