The Newcastle Knights are hopeful Tyrone Roberts and Kurt Gidley will be available for round two while Darius Boyd has been ruled out.

Boyd had scans following Saturday's hamstring injury, which confirmed a low grade two hamstring tear. The fullback is expected to be sidelined for two to three weeks.

Gidley and Roberts, who were both concussed in Saturday’s game, are recovering well and will be reassessed this week before they are cleared to play.

The Knights resume training on Tuesday as they prepare to host the Canberra Raiders at Hunter Stadium this Sunday.
