Tom Lovegrove’s tenth birthday will be one he will remember for a long time.
The devoted, young Newcastle Knights fan was surprised by his Dad, James, with a visit to the Newcastle Knights open training at the team’s official training ground at Wests Mayfield.
The Dungog junior league player had the chance to watch the team during the Friday morning preseason training session and meet the players when they finished-up on the field.
Tom was ecstatic to have his Knights football and jersey signed and to have a chat with his most admired players, Tyrone Roberts and James McManus.
“He was very happy, he’s dead-set passionate about the Knights,” James said.
The Lovegrove family are Knights crazy. The Platinum Members make it to all home games and follow the team's progress all year round.
“We’re right into it," James enthused.
Tom thought the experience was a standout birthday present and an amazing surprise organised by his Dad.
“He will remember this forever,” James said.
