The Newcastle Knights has officially released the team’s Auckland Nines jersey ahead of the highly anticipated tournament to be held for the first time ever in Auckland on February 15 and 16.

The Club, together with its official apparel partner, ISC, has created the one-off eye-catching design to be worn exclusively at the tournament.

The two-day knock out competition will see the involvement of all 16 NRL Clubs with 256 players converging on the city of Auckland for an epic showcase of nine-a-side rugby league.

All 16 Clubs will officially launch their unique jersey designs at a fashion parade on January 22nd.

The Auckland Nines tournament will see 31 live games over one weekend with games featuring 9-minute halves.

"The Nines will be very exciting to watch and be a part of," young hooker Adam Clydesdale said.

"There will be some good players and it will be all about the speed of the game and being fit.

"It will be very different to the normal game, but it will be fun."

The 16 teams, broken into four pools of four teams, will compete for $2.25m Australian dollars prize money.

The release of the jersey, available for purchase now, adds to a building collection of 2014 jerseys to be worn by the Knights in 2014 including the new away jersey and the special edition Women in League jersey.
