The Newcastle Knights is set celebrate the immeasurable contribution women play in the game of Rugby League with the release of its very first, limited edition Women in League jersey.

From volunteer level to senior management, the involvement of women is integral to our game.

Due to popular demand, the Newcastle Knights has released the specially designed, pink jersey that will be proudly worn by players during the Women in League match in 2014.

The Women in League round has always been a prominent event on the Knights season calendar and in 2014, which marks the eighth year the NRL has featured the round, is set to be extra special for the Knights.

Knight Alex McKinnon and his partner Teigan are excited the Club has released a new jersey for the special occasion.

It will great to have a Women in League jersey next season. My partner Teigan, as well as my grandma will be excited to get one of these new pink jerseys, McKinnon said.

In past years the Knights celebrated the Women in League round by supporting appropriate local charities, running Women in League events on game day and through players involvement in a raft of community events.

The Club will again embrace the event to recognise the countless women who support the Knights and Rugby League.

The special edition Women in League jersey, launched on Wednesday and featuring vibrant pink stripes, is now available to purchase in store at the Newcastle Knights Superstore as well as online.
