The nib Newcastle Knights and Charlestown Square have today announced an official partnership for 2026, combining two of the region’s most recognisable brands.
Both organisations share a deep love for Newcastle and the Hunter, combining large male and female supporter bases, to create authentic connections to our community.
nib Newcastle Knights Group Chief Operating Officer Jodie Cross, said the partnership cements the Club’s ongoing charter to connect people with our Club.
“Charlestown Square is a renowned local destination with strong community reach, making them an ideal partner for the Knights," Cross said.
“Partnerships like this connect people and places, creating gateways for friends, families, and supporters to come together and celebrate living in the Hunter.
“Together, we can deliver meaningful engagement opportunities for fans and customers, while amplifying both brands, through shared values of community, connection and regional pride.”
Charlestown Square Marketing Manager, Sarah Kane, said the partnership brings together two local icons with a shared commitment to the Hunter community.
“Charlestown Square is the premier shopping centre serving the Hunter region, where families come together, where local pride is on show, and where the next generation of Knights supporters is growing up,” Ms Kane said.
“This partnership with the Newcastle Knights celebrates the fabric of our region. It’s about strengthening community engagement and backing grassroots pathways, from local junior clubs right through to the Knights’ NRL and NRLW programs, while creating great moments for families and fans.”
Throughout the 2026 season, Charlestown Square and the Newcastle Knights will bring the partnership to life through a range of family-focused moments and supporter activities.
As the first activation under the partnership, Charlestown Square has launched its Back-to-School promotion, ‘Shop for your Club’, encouraging shoppers to nominate their local junior footy club with each in-Centre purchase, with clubs climbing a leaderboard.
At the end of the promotion, the winning clubs will receive prizes to support volunteers and young players.
Cross spoke about the importance of these types of promotions, designed to put local families and junior sporting clubs at the heart of the partnership.
"'Shop for your Club’ is one of many ways we’re bringing the partnership to life," Cross said.
“This was a great way to kick off the new year, giving families the opportunity to back the local junior clubs, along with keeping kids active and connected.”
