August Club of the Month confirmed: Morpeth Bulls

The nib Newcastle Knights are proud to announce the Morpeth Bulls as our August Club of the Month, recognising their outstanding commitment to growing female participation, fostering community spirit, and creating a safe, inclusive environment for all.

The Bulls’ journey in the women’s game began in 2021, when they proudly fielded their first all-girls Under 13s team - a milestone that became the spark for rapid growth.

Just four years later, the Club now boasts all-girls sides from Under 12s through to Under 18s, providing young female athletes with the opportunity to develop their skills, grow in confidence, and thrive on and off the field.

Partnerships like the 'Pickers Pathways Program' with the Maitland Pickers have opened doors for players to access elite coaching, mentoring, and representative opportunities.

Behind the scenes, dedicated volunteers - most notably NSWRL award-winner Wendy Povey - work tirelessly to uphold the Club’s high standards and ensure its strong, family-focused culture continues to flourish.

The Bulls take pride in offering family-friendly facilities and living by the values of respect, sportsmanship, and inclusivity. They work closely with schools and community groups to make sure every player - no matter their background or ability- feels welcomed into the Bulls family.

Congratulations to the Morpeth Bulls on being named our August Club of the Month. Your work is not only producing great rugby league players, but also building a stronger, more inclusive game for future generations.
