The nib Newcastle Knights NRLW side have defeated the North Queensland Cowboys 26-6 at Queensland Country Bank Stadium on Saturday night.
The red and blue posted their first win of the season with a four tries to one result away from home.
Ahead of a huge Voice for Mining Round next Sunday night, the NRLW side will return home to take on the Warriors following the men's fixture.
How it played out:
The match kicked off in beautiful conditions for rugby league in North Queensland.
The Knights were strong defensively in the opening stages keeping out a number of Cowboys attacks.
After 14 minutes, the red and blue were on the board.
Botille Vette-Welsh and Shanice Parker combined when the fullback rolled in a precision grubber for the centre to run onto.

The match settled into a grind with both teams completing their sets to a high percentage in the opening half.
Jesse Southwell accepted a gift two points from in front on the 29th minute to extend the Knights lead to eight points.
With four minutes left to play in the half, Sheridan Gallagher showed a clean pair of boots to race down the sideline and earn the Knights second try of the night.

Newcastle went into the sheds ahead 14-0.
Tayla Predebon extended the Knights advantage early in the second half to put the red and blue out to a 20-point lead.

In her return game from suspension, Olivia Higgins was back to her best and was rewarded with a try with seven minutes to play and seal the result.

North Queensland scored a late consolation try, but it was the Knights who came out on top.

The NRLW side return to McDonald Jones Stadium for next Sunday's huge Voice for Mining Family Round clash, playing after the NRL side against the Warriors.
