The nib Newcastle Knights have defeated the South Sydney Rabbitohs 30-4 on Saturday afternoon at Suncorp Stadium.

Kicking off Saturday's fixtures at Magic Round, the red and blue ran in five tries including a hat-trick to Fletcher Sharpe on his 21st birthday.

Dane Gagai was instrumental in his 200th game in Knights colours as the side registered a much-needed victory in Round 9.

1st min - The match kicked off for the first game on Saturday in Brisbane.

7th min - The Knights held most of the early possession and Fletcher Sharpe made sure it counted when he sprinted onto a Kalyn Ponga grubber kick to score. Ponga converted. Knights 6-0 Rabbitohs

40th min - The rain started to pour at Suncorp Stadium with the Knights headed into the sheds ahead by 18.

47th min - The Knights started the second half as they did the first with Bradman Best finishing a 85 metre try after Ponga fielded a kick and passed to his left to the NSW Origin centre before backing up on the inside to receive the ball back. Ponga then passed back outside to Best. Knights 24-0 Rabbitohs
