TUESDAY: NRLW Head Coach Ronald Griffiths named his 22-woman squad for our Round 4 top-of-the-table clash with the Sydney Roosters.
Kiana Takairangi and Simone Karpani have both been recalled after missing Sunday’s gritty 18-16 victory over the Parramatta Eels.
A late withdrawal on Sunday due to COVID, Takairangi will line up on the wing in place of Autumn-Rain Stephens-Daly who suffered a knee injury in the win.
Karpani’s return from concussion sees Makenzie Weale shift back to the interchange bench.
Jakiya Whitfeld retains her place on the other wing after making her NRLW debut in the win over the Eels.
Higgins on preparation and last week's performance
For the Roosters, they have made several changes to their line-up with Shaniah Power (head knock) and Sarah Togatuki (general soreness) out of the starting side.
Bench players Pani Hopoate and Otesa Pule earn starts with former Bronco Chante Temara, the younger sister of Zahara, and Sam Economos coming onto the bench while Joeli Morris joins the interchange for Shawden Burton.
Roosters winger Jayme Fressard is also out, replaced by Jasmin Strange, the daughter of coach John Strange, on the wing.
FORM GUIDE
With both sides having won their opening three games, only one team will remain undefeated after Sunday's match.
The Knights scored a last-gasp 18-16 win over the Parramatta Eels last round to remain second on the competition ladder.
Previous wins over the Broncos and Titans have the side off to an unbeaten start.
The Roosters have flown out of the blocks in the opening rounds including a 34-6 victory over the Dragons in a Grand Final re-match last Friday.
STAT ATTACK
The Knights have qualified for the finals for the first time in the Club's history and in only its second season.
Millie Boyle leads the NRLW for post-contact metres with 209 so far while Tayla Predebon has also been a shining light and sits sixth with 143 metres.
The Roosters defeated the Knights 28-12 in the only outing between the two Club's, played last season.
The Knights will look to shutdown Roosters halfback, Raecene McGregor, who tops the NRLW for try-assists with 8.
