Ultimate Guide: Warriors name team for Saturday

The nib Newcastle Knights will take on the Warriors as part of Indigenous Round this Saturday at Moreton Daily Stadium, Redcliffe.

Home of the Yuggera, Jinibara and Kabi Kabi peoples, the Knights will take to Redcliffe for Indigenous Round which recognises the significant contribution Indigenous people have made to rugby league while celebrating Indigenous culture.

The side will be wearing a special artwork designed for the round by proud Worimi man, Gerard Black, with the thirteen First Nations of north and north-western New South Wales taking pride of place on the jersey.

The teams have been named while Newcastle will look to bounce back from their last start loss to Brisbane with a determined result against the Warriors.

Knights NRL Head Coach, Adam O'Brien, has named his 24-man squad.

Enari Tuala replaces the injured Bradman Best (dislocated elbow) in the centres.

Jake Clifford also returns to the team to partner Anthony Milford in the halves for the first time with Adam Clune continuing to manage an ongoing knee injury.

For the Warriors, Chanel Harris-Tavita returns to five-eighth with Daejarn Asi moving to the reserves.

Addin Fonua-Blake (foot) is out, replaced by Jazz Tevaga at prop.

Freddy Lussick will start at hooker in Tevaga's place with Taniela Otukolo the new man on the bench.

Mid-season recruit Dunamis Lui is included in the extended squad after joining the club this week.

FORM GUIDE

The Knights were defeated 36-12 by the Brisbane Broncos last start at McDonald Jones Stadium.

The result put the Knights into 15th spot on the ladder nearing the halfway point of the season.

The Warriors went down in a close affair against the Dragons 24-18.

They have lost their last three games in the competition although have won all three of their games at Redcliffe this season.

The Knights have won three of the last four against the Warriors including two victories against the upcoming opposition in 2021.

QLD MEMBER'S EVENT

The Knights will also join our supporters for the Queenlsand Members Event after full-time of the Warriors clash.

The event is exclusive for Queensland Members with all travelling players and staff set to attend.

It's the first time since 2019 the Club has held the event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event will take place at Moreton Daily Stadium at 6pm on Saturday night, one hour after the game concludes.
