The nib Newcastle Knights have been granted an exemption by the NRL to call Gehamat Shibasaki into the squad for Sunday’s Round 19 match with St George Illawarra.
While not initially named in the 21-man side on Tuesday, Shibasaki has been cleared to take the place of Edrick Lee who will miss the match to attend to a private matter.
The Knights will reduce their squad by two players on Saturday afternoon, 24-hours before kick-off.
