The nib Newcastle Knights send our condolences to the Dark family and friends.
The Club is deeply saddened by the news that Central Newcastle player and former Knights junior Joel Dark tragically passed away on Friday.
General Manager of Football, Danny Buderus, said; “We are a Club with a heavy heart at the news of Joel’s passing.
“The Dark family have many friends throughout our team and town, and we are standing alongside them today mourning this unimaginable loss. I know the family will get all the support they need from the tight knit community of Old Bar in the days and weeks ahead, along with the entire game as we unite in this tragic loss.”
The 19-year-old was injured in his first-grade debut for Central Newcastle against Western Suburbs last weekend.
Our thoughts go out to the family, friends, Central Newcastle and Newcastle Rugby League.
The Knights have offered support to those at the Club who may require assistance to come to terms with this horrible news.
