Storm too strong in injury riddled afternoon

The nib Newcastle Knights have been defeated 26-16 by a powerful Melbourne Storm outfit on the Sunshine Coast.

30' Error from Faasuamaleaui and Knights have it inside their 20m.

29' Storm break away down the short side and Kalyn Ponga with a try saver on Seve. Munster kicks for Addo-Carr and Ponga knocks it over the sideline. Huge effort from Ponga. Two massive plays.

28' Knights complete their set and Pearce bombs to the fullback.

26' Smith converts his try. Storm lead 12-6.

25' Moga with a horrible miss on Bromwich and he finds Smith on the inside. The pass was very suspect but the officials say it's fine. Smith try 10-6 with a kick to come.

24' Smith grubber on the last and it goes dead.

21' Pearce bomb on the last and Barnett smashes the fullback. Knights give a penalty away for a dangerous tackle on Brandon Smith.

20' Storm go left side to Addo-Carr and Hunt eats him up, taking him over the sideline. Scrum feed at the Knights 10m.

19' Munster through the guts. Ponga with a try saving tackle. Storm kick the following play for the corner but Tuala makes the save. Knights line drop out to come.

18' Pearce kicks on the last. Munster takes the ball and is touched by Mann. Storm penalty for contact in the air.

18' The Storm lose the ball in a tackle from Klemmer. Ref says penalty and Knights are challenging. Bunker says Bromwich has lost the ball. Knights get a scrum at halfway.

16' Knights gain set restart. That's our third. A nice step from Mann on the second tackle, left Kaufusi clutching at air. Ponga goes long for Hunt but the pass is too high and goes into touch at the Storm 10m.

14' Munster kicks early for Addo-Carr but the ball goes into touch at the Knights 20m.

13' Knights get a set restart. Attack the line but Mann's kick goes dead.

12' Mann throws an intercept to Vunivalu but shuts the winger down. Storm on the attack. Munster kicks down the throat of Ponga on the last and the Knights have the ball back.

10' Storm penalised for being inside the 10m after a Munster bomb. Knights find touch just short of halfway.

9' Ponga gets the kick away to complete the set. 

8' Ponga converts the Best try. We are level 6-6.

7' Storm complete after the try and Ponga takes the bomb cleanly. The Knights earn a set restart which sees them into enemy territory for the first time in the game. Bradman Best with the run and footwork. He beats the fullback and scores a try.

5' Smith converts the try. Storm 6-0.

3' Knights give away a set restart. Tuala produces a strong tackle on Seve to shut down an attacking raid. Sadly, the following set the Storm go down the short side and Vunivalu scores off a Kaufusi pass.
