When that stadium is full with the supporters on the hill being proud of their team, there is no greater sight.
One of the first things I noticed when I arrived in Newcastle, was how down to earth everyone is.
That not only goes for the players and staff but the community as a whole.
When I first moved here, not many people knew who I was, but everyone was willing to help me get settled and has been very supportive to me and my wife Sharyn, plus our new coaching staff and their families.
It’s no secret, this is my first season doing this which has presented challenges, but it has been enjoyable.
I am proud of our guys and the work they have put in this pre-season.
While we haven’t played a competition game, I am pleased with the amount of work we got through over the summer period.
We all want this football club to be strong, resilient and mentally tough.
And that's what the players have been all summer.
Ultimately, we want you to be proud of our performances.
A team the community will embrace. That’s our focus. You need to know our players have a deep care for our community.
Our club doesn’t sit above anyone, we sit alongside you.
The people of Newcastle dig in together and help each other regardless of status.
I love that about this community.
Newcastle people and Knights supporters don’t run away from tough times, they lean in.
