After starting the year on the sidelines, 2019 ended up being an impressive year for Jacob Saifiti.
The man known as ‘J-Saf’ begun the pre-season recovering from both a syndesmosis injury and broken leg.
With Saifiti doing his best to get back to full fitness, the prop forward was eased back into the first-grade side through a stint in the Canterbury Cup.
Saifiti was at his damaging best in this competition, running for well over 100 metres per game, tackling at 92% efficiency and even crossing for a rare try.
With his full fitness nearly restored in the back half of the season, Saifiti made seven appearances in the NRL, making an impact off the bench for his side.
While there is no doubt the early season stint on the sidelines took its toll on Saifiti, the fact he’s now injury free and has a full pre-season ahead of him should set him up for a mammoth 2020 season
