Season Review: Tim Glasby

Arriving at the nib Newcastle Knights after six success-filled years in Melbourne, Tim Glasby was a handy addition to the roster.

A lock with strong go-forward and impenetrable defence, Glasby carried the same form throughout the year that saw him earn a Queensland Origin jersey in 2017.

Glasby’s early season form saw him recalled to the Origin arena mid-year, playing in games two and three for the Maroons as they went down 2-1 to New South Wales.

With the experience of Origin under his belt, Glasby brought the form back to club level, with the big man scoring two tries, 20 tackle breaks, 522 post contact metres, 19 offloads and an average of 74 run metres per game.

His true forte is his defence, where he made 626 tackles at the stunning efficiency of 94.2%.

With the Knights set to step up in 2020, Glasby will be sure to make himself a massive part of any success the Club has going forward.
