Head to head: Aiming up for Old Boys

With the Gold Coast awaiting as the next opponent for the nib Newcastle Knights, every player will be looking to finish the season on a high.

Philip Gardner media address: Brown immediate release

While the Titans were too good in their encounter earlier this season, there is nothing separating the two sides with each taking 11 wins from their 22 encounters.

With the end of the season just two weeks away, both sides will be looking to finish the year with a bang.

Shaun Kenny-Dowall vs Phillip Sami

The battle of the speedsters will go a long way to deciding this one.

Shaun Kenny-Dowall has continued his solid form in 2019, with the winger set to cross the 3000-metre mark for the season.

The man known as ‘SKD’ has caused constant headaches to his opponents all year, with his seven line breaks the second most of anybody in the Knights line up.

David Klemmer vs Jarrod Wallace

The two workhorses are set to come together up front.

David Klemmer’s season continues to go from strength to strength, with his run metre tally now surpassing 3000. He has also contributed strongly to the team’s second phase play with 24 offloads.

With the game also doubling as Old Boys Day, there’s no doubt Klemmer will be set for a big one.

Kalyn Ponga vs Michael Gordon

The young gun up against the retiring veteran.

With a team-high statistics in both line breaks and tackle breaks, any Knights victory will likely come off the back of Kalyn Ponga.

His ability to nab a try will also prove to be crucial. His current tally of 11 four-pointers nearly double that of his closest team mate.
