Mann's heart-warming gesture for young fan

Moments that aren’t captured on broadcast often go unnoticed in the game of rugby league. However, as is often the case, it is these moments that capture the hearts of fans.

On the weekend, the Newcastle Knights received an email from a Sydney-based father and Knights tragic. Here is what he had to say.

‘Hi,

Last Saturday night my son Axel and I attended the match at Bankwest stadium.
We are Sydney based Knights fans, and try to attend most Sydney games.

Post match we made our way down to the northern end of the ground for a closer glimpse of the players, where most Eels players and fans had congregated.

We were basically the only Knights fans left in that location at the time.

After the match Kurt Mann jogged about 30m to hand my son his playing boots.
Needless to say it made Axel’s night and provided an unforgettable memory for him.

Today he is taking the boots to school for show and tell!
I’d like to commend Kurt Mann for this small gesture and thank him.

Good luck for rest of the season.’
