Knights 20s dominate on home turf to thrash Manly

It was a whitewash for the Newcastle Knights 20s, thrashing Manly 52-8 at McDonald Jones Stadium on Saturday.

They started off with a bang as Grant Anderson slide over in the opening minute.

It was then a hat-trick of tries within seven minutes as Luke Huth, Justin Worley and Dylan Lucas all crashed over for the red and blue.

Bayden Searle nailed all the extras and it was 22-0 after 18 minutes.

With heavy waited possession, the Knights again fired via fullback Toby Marks. The no. 1 dived over in the 21st minute as Searle finished it off with the conversion.

The Knights recorded 28 on the scoreboard, working hard to keep the visitors scoreless.

It was nearing the break but Manly finally found some space to run the ball over. Ben Trbojevich added four points.

Knights led 28-4 at halftime.

Back after the break and it was end-to-end football for 15 minutes before the Knights slotted another four pointer. Lucas found the line for the double to see the home side lead 34-4.

In the 57th minute it’s red and blue over the line again. Lucas having an absolute cracker to score the hat-trick before Marks stepped over for the double.

The Knights had the score line stretched to 46-4.

Manly added a try in the 67th minute but right on the buzzer, the Knights scored again vioa Elijah Rasiga to take out a resounding win, 52-8 over Manly.
