Nathan Brown has cut three players from his squad ahead of the nib Newcastle Knights’ Round 13 clash against South Sydney.

Kalyn Ponga will be rested following his tireless performance for Queensland in State of Origin on Wednesday night. 

Mason Lino moves into the 17, although his position is yet to be confirmed.

Forwards Jacob Saifiti and Josh King have dropped out of the team. 

Pasami Saulo and Tautau Moga remain on the extended bench with the final 17 set to be announced one-hour prior to kick-off.
