Jersey Flegg Knights slay Dragons

It was a bit of relief for the Newcastle Knights Jersey Flegg squad who recorded their first win for the season after two close losses.

At Charlestown, the red and blue U20s staged a dominant performance for a 20-point victory over the St George Illawarra Dragons on Saturday afternoon.

Knights forward Matt Croker kicked off the scoring with a four-pointer two minutes in.

He was followed by Jack Cameron for the Knights second, before Matthew Moon slid over in the 20th minute.

Two minutes before the break the Dragons got on the board, but the Knights had a comfortable 16-6 lead at halftime.

The red and blue continued their dominance with a try from Ben Talty who charged over in the 50th minute.

Timanu Alexander was the final scorer for the day. He dived over for the Knights in the 61st minute to see the home side play out a 26-6 win over the Dragons.
