Strike centre's return after almost a year

348 days.

That’s how long since Tautau Moga has played a game of rugby league.

Easter Sunday last year, the Newcastle Knights centre suffered a devastating knee injury just three minutes into their match against the St George Illawarra Dragons.

Rehabilitation has been a long and arduous road for the 25-year-old but finally the day came.

Injury Report: Update on Griffin and Saulo

Moga put on the red and blue jersey for the Knights Canterbury Cup squad on Friday afternoon against the Newtown Jets.

Starting in the left centre, he showed positive signs on the field.

Moga put in a solid 28 minutes in the first half, with some aggressive plays out wide and came out unscathed.

'He has been in enough good wins to know what is required'

His first match back topped off with a 24-4 victory against the Jets for Round 1.

With a new look Knights squad for 2019, the outside back’s return to top grade will be closely watched.

There’s no doubt he’ll be pushing hard for a starting spot in the no. 4 jersey.
