The nib Newcastle Knights have thrown their support behind a three-year-old girl battling leukaemia.
Led by Hymel Hunt, the playing group have shared posts promoting ‘Ellie’s online auction’ to help raise funds for her treatment.
Hunt is a family friend and doing everything in his power to help Ellie and her family.
"It's quite sad and we're just trying to do everything we can," Hunt said.
"Being three years old she would normally be playing, having tea parties with her friends, but she’s having checkups in the hospital.”
So far donations have been flooding in to support Ellie.
“It is unreal to see just how big everyones hearts are. Willing to open up their wallets and dig in deep," Hunt added.
The Knights back and his teammates are also promoting a signed Knights jersey.
The jersey auction goes live on Thursday!
