Knights in the news: 'He’s out of our price range'

There's been no shortage of interest in our boys this week.

The nib Newcastle Knights attract plenty of media attention and we've pulled together the best of it in case you missed any of the news.

Here's what our boys got up to this week:

COOK NOT IN KNIGHTS PLANS

Coach Nathan Brown has put to bed speculation that the nib Newcastle Knights are in the market for New South Wales Blues hooker Damien Cook.

With the injury to Knights hooker Slade Griffin, there has been talk that Newcastle are in the hunt for a quality replacement.

Injury Report: Latest on Kalyn Ponga and Connor Watson

Cook comes off contract with the Rabbitohs at the end of next year and was linked to a move to the Knights for 2020.

But Brown says Cook isn't in the Club's plans.

"He's never appear on our radar as a player to be honest with you," Brown told Big Sports Breakfast.

"We've invested quite heavily in some areas we've felt we've needed to and we're still in the market for a player in particular, especially with Slade's situation, we certainly are looking around that hooker region."

Glasby's commitment to team

After having a breakout 2018 season, Cook is reportedly commanding big money.

That's a major reason why the Knights aren't in the mix for his signature.

"It's not because he's not a good player, he's a very good player, the wages he's demanding are very high," Brown added.

"The money that Damien Cook is after and is asking, and probably deserves having played for Australia and NSW he's out of our price range I'd say."
