Knights in the news: Brown considers resting Ponga

There's been no shortage of interest in our boys this week.

Preparing for another big game, the nib Newcastle Knights attracted plenty of media attention and we've pulled together the best of it in case you missed any of the news.

Here's what our boys got up to this week:

PONGA MAY BE RESTED

Nathan Brown is considering resting Kalyn Ponga from Saturday's Round 23 clash against Penrith.

The fullback has been struggling to overcome an ankle injury and played the previous two games with his ankle heavily strapped.

The injury has meant Ponga has hardly trained with the team for quite some time and the nib Newcastle Knights coach is contemplating resting him in order for him to let the injury fully heal.

"We'll certainly have a look at giving him a rest to try and get over it," Brown told the Newcastle Herald.

"He is showing a lot of courage to keep playing with it but it makes it hard for him and the team when he can't train."

Ponga injured his ankle prior to the Knights' clash with North Queensland and again played with the issue against the Warriors last week.
