On This Day: Club try scoring record
It was a night the Tigers would rather forget but one set into Knights history, with high-flying winger Akuila Uate setting the unrivalled Club record of most tries scored in a playing career with the Club.
Led onto home turf by co-captains Trent Hodkinson and Jeremy Smith, the Knights put on a brilliant attacking display in front of 21,653 fans donning the red and blue.
In the 19th minute of play, a lapse in defence allowed Jaelen Feeney to sprint down the middle of the field, beating most of the defensive pack before finally being stopped by second rower Chris Lawrence just metres short of the try line.
Seeing the Knights had the advantage, Jarrod Mullen dived in for a quick play-the-ball, drawing the marker and creating an overlap on the right side. He then scooped the ball and threw a quick pass out to Akuila Uate on the wing who was fronted by winger Jordan Rankin.
Quick on his feet Uate put a well executed right-foot step on Rankin before whipping around him to dive over the line, complete with tongue out and a big smile for the crowd to seal the deal.
