Knights name Round 1 ISP team

ISP Newcastle Knights coach Simon Woolford has named his 21-man squad for Friday’s clash with the Blacktown Workers at McDonald Jones Stadium for their season opener.

The starting 13 will see Christian Hazard play at five-eighth to partner Jack Cogger in the halves for his first game in the red and blue, while Jack Johns gets the nod at 14.

The Reserve Grade side will be stacked with plenty of NRL experience, including Ken Sio named at wing, Danny Levi into hooker, and Sam Stone, Jacob Saifiti, Josh King and Luke Yates all in the forward pack.

Regulars Nick Meaney, Tom Hughes and Cory Denniss are all set to continue their good work from 2017 in the backs.
