Young nib Newcastle Knight Luke Huth has been selected in the Australian squad for the 2018 Rugby League Commonwealth Championships.
The former Australian schoolboy, who played SG Ball and NYC for the Club in 2017, was one of 15 players chosen to compete in the competition, at Redcliffe’s Dolphin Stadium on the weekend of February 24 and 24.
The 18-year-old, who was rewarded a three-year contract extension late last year with the Knights, will feature in the Club’s Under 20s Jersey Flegg side this year.
Coach Adrian Lam told the NRL, it was a great opportunity for them to participate in the exhibition nine-a-side (U23) tournament, being held in the lead up to the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Australia has been included in Pool A, alongside Fiji, Scotland and Wales.
