Just like the rest of the football community, nib Newcastle Knights players like to make their own predictions on who will take out the 2017 NRL premiership between the North Queensland Cowboys and the Melbourne Storm on Sunday.

While some will be cheering for the ‘underdogs’, others couldn’t go past the side they believe is the strongest in the competition.

Nathan Ross is so excited about Sunday’s big day, he couldn’t even choose a winner.

But, the overall consensus was that the Melbourne Storm will get over the line and be crowned 2017 NRL premiers.

Trent Hodkinson – Cowboys - “You’ve got to go for the underdogs.”

Brock Lamb – Storm – “Cooper Cronk and Cameron Smith will control the game at their pace.”

Danny Levi – Storm – “They have just way too much class.”

Josh King – Cowboys – “I would like to see them win without Johnathan Thurston and Matt Scott.”

Jamie Buhrer – Storm – “They’ve performed at such a high consistency all year. I’d love to see the Cowboys win in an upset, but I just can’t see it happening.”

Lachlan Fitzgibbon – Storm – “They have been too clinical in everything they have done this year and they know how to win big games.”

Jacob Saifiti – Storm – “By 14 points. Too much size and experience across the park. Cameron Smith, Cooper Cronk and Billy Slater will be too good for the Cowboys.”

Nathan Ross – Undecided – “Rugby league is the real winner. I could press a case for both teams. I’m just excited to watch the game.”
