nib Newcastle Knights forward Sam Stone, who made a return to the NRL side last weekend against the New Zealand Warriors, admits the morale is high following back-to-back wins.

“It is feeling really good because I don’t think the Club has done this for quite a while,” Stone said on Monday.

“It is really positive; the boys have worked hard and it’s great to finally get rewarded for our hard work.”

The attention quickly turns to Friday night’s match against an in-form Parramatta Eels at ANZ Stadium.

“If we can play well, we can keep up with most teams so I’m pretty confident we can keep up with them,” Stone said.

“Getting a win away from home would be massive.

“We always try and pride ourselves on our performances at home but I think it’s time to really do well away and there’s no better time than to start this week.”

The Eels have won their last six matches and sit in fifth spot on the ladder.

“They are a good team from one to 17 so I wouldn’t want to focus on anyone too much and we’ve just got to do our job across the park,” Stone said.

“All those key positions, half and fullback, all of them are good and they have some strong outside backs as well.”

After two great wins, Stone maintains they’ll need to continue to focus on an 80-minute performance this week against the Eels.

“We have had a couple of close games with a few mishaps finishing them off but I think the last two weeks we’ve done really well in closing out the game,” commented Stone.

“It has been a long time coming but we were never really that far off.”

The Knights take on the Parramatta Eels at ANZ Stadium this Friday, with two grades in action.
