In some exciting off field entertainment, match day partner McDonald Jones Homes is bringing virtual reality to game day to put Newcastle Knights Members and fans in the thick of the action.

In a super Saturday of football, as the Knights host the Brisbane Broncos, McDonald Jones Homes is introducing their brand-new feature, the Virtual Reality Photo Booth, set up in the fan zone at the Western entrance of the stadium.

“It is an immersive experience where Knights players and cheerleaders can be seen on screen but at the same time their fans can actually go in there and be part of the action,” said McDonald Jones Homes Marketing Manager Nathan Thurston.

“They can score a try, kick the winning conversion and be in the team photo as well.

“Fans can also bust out a routine with the cheerleaders with pom poms also on hand."

Participants can download their virtual image from the McDonald Jones Homes Facebook Page, share it and post their photo to social media.

There will also be an opportunity to have their fun photo flashed onto the big screen during the day, as another part of the fun, McDonald Jones Homes will also be giving away inflatable hammers and cardboard shields.

“We are excited to be celebrating our 30th year in the Hunter, alongside the Newcastle Knights this season,” commented Thurston.

At NRL halftime, an inflatable football race on field will also get the crowd cheering.

“Nothing is the same as being at the game and fans can get involved and feel as though they are participating in something bigger,” said Thurston.

Don’t just come for the footy action, come for the match day fun.

All three grades will be playing on the day; NYC kick off at 1.15pm before ISP at 3.10pm and NRL action at 5.30pm.
