With the bye this weekend, the players' training schedules have been given a shake-up this week.
The team hit Redhead Beach on Wednesday morning to tough out some skills in the sand under the watchful eye of coach Nathan Brown.
“I think being a bit of a change up and having some team and fun activity involved, whilst it might have been hard, I think they enjoyed it,” said Brown.
“The guys had their normal review early in the week with video from the game and they’ve done a fair bit of weights but today was a bit of a beach session.
“This week we can freshen them up and the guys will get a few days off before they come in on Monday and prepare for Melbourne (Storm).”
The last few games have delivered a few injuries including Jack Stockwell with a shoulder issue, Josh Starling nursing an injured his wrist and Anthony Tupou suffering a hip complaint.
Brown admits the bye couldn’t have come at a better time.
“If we were playing this week, we’d have a few in a bit of doubt so to freshen up this week is really good for us,” he said.
“Hopefully come Monday with the treatments, the rehab and a week off from the physical part of the game, we’ll have a reasonable number of players that can actually train properly and prepare for the Melbourne game.
