nib Newcastle Knights CEO Matt Gidley and players Dylan Phythian and David Bhana got to meet some of the Club's biggest supporters at Castle Personnel’s Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser on Tuesday.
“One of the benefits of doing this as a job is that you get to give back to the people and Newcastle,” said Phythian.
“We see these guys at training through the week supporting us so it is good to spend the morning with them.
The Knights have strong ties with the non-for-profit organisation which enables and empowers people with a disability to have independence, choice and control to help them gain employment locally.
“We have had a close relationship with Castle Personnel for a number of years now,” said Gidley.
“They are such a wonderful community organisation and it’s great to come out for the Biggest Morning Tea and get to know the clients here.
“We try and support as many of these charity organisation events as we can and it is always wonderful to see the players here as well.”
After talking to some of the clients, the Knights players were happy to dig deep for a worthy cause.
“It is definitely a good cause and we’ll definitely have to get our wallets out and grab some stuff from Caitlin,” smiled Bhana.
“It is awesome seeing these guys, they usually come to training and we always enjoy having them around.”
