The first match day nib Newcastle Knights Members forum was touted as a ‘great idea’ from red and blue supporters.

The forum, hosted by Knights CEO Matt Gidley in the Members Bar at McDonald Jones Stadium, was held before kick-off of the Round 3 clash against the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

The exclusive game day event was a chance for Members to ask any questions they had in relation to the Club and to get to know the ins and outs of all things red and blue.

Gidley mingled with Members and answered a variety of questions.

Knights Member Ian Southgate thought highly of the initiative.

“It’s a great idea,” he said.

“It’s good for Matt to get out there and meet with the supporters.

“Throughout the season supporters will probably have a lot of questions.”

Also watching on was Knights Member Bianca Gross, who felt it was good to have interaction between the Club’s boss and on the ground supporters.

“It’s good to break down that barrier between the upper levels of the Club and supporters are able to find out what’s going on behind the scenes,” explained Bianca.

“it makes Matt seem more approachable and the Club more inclusive.”

Bianca believes more Knights forums throughout the season are a must for Members to be able to speak up about the Club they love and be in the know.

“Maybe people that wouldn’t normally speak would feel they can finally ask what they’ve always been wanting to ask,” Bianca said.

Stay tuned for the next Knights Member Forum.
