Continuing a long-standing partnership that unites Novocastrians and inspires pride in the Hunter community, McDonalds Newcastle and Hunter Region have once again joined the Newcastle Knights family in 2017.

The renewed partnership represents a significant synergy between the Club and one of the Hunter’s most recognisable brands, as the iconic food chain logo features on the Club’s playing kit once again.

“We’re proud to be sponsoring the Newcastle Knights for the fifth consecutive year, providing grassroots support,” said Murray McKeough, McDonald’s Newcastle and Hunter Region licensee.

“We hope to see great things from the team this season and we’ll be cheering them on the whole way.”

The McDonalds partnership will focus on encouraging and supporting the values of competition, leadership and good sportsmanship through a range of initiatives designed to bring our team and the community together.

This year, young fans and families will be the focus of entertainment including the McDonalds' inclusion in the Knights Free Fan Zone, visits by players to local Junior Rugby League Club clinics and the McDonalds Family Fun Day at a home game later in the season.

The Club will continue their support of the closely aligned major charity Ronald McDonald House Newcastle, with regular visits by players to the John Hunter Children’s Hospital.

"McDonalds make a wonderful contribution to the community and we thank them for their continued support of the Club," said CEO Matt Gidley.

"We are proud to be working together to promote active lifestyles through grassroots junior Rugby League here in the Hunter region."
