Jake Mamo and the nib Newcastle Knights have mutually agreed to part ways, releasing Mamo from the final year of his contract.
The 22-year-old made his NRL debut in 2014 and went on to play 29 games.
“Jake should be proud of what he has achieved at the Club and we thank him for his contribution,” coach Nathan Brown said.
“Jake has our very best wishes for the future.”
Mamo has signed a two-year contract with the Huddersfield Giants. He will continue to train with the Knights until a visa is arranged.
The fullback is looking forward to the opportunity to play in the English Super League and securing the fullback position under coach Rick Stone at the Giants.
“Thank you to all the fans and everyone that has supported me, and to the Knights for the opportunity,” Mamo said.
“While I am going to miss playing for the Club I grew up supporting, I am excited for the opportunity to play and live overseas.”
