The nib Newcastle Knights will play a pre-season trial match against the Canberra Raiders at Seiffert Oval, Queanbeyan, ahead of the 2017 season.
Scheduled to kick off at 6.30pm on Saturday February 18, the match will take place two weeks after the 2017 Auckland Nines tournament has concluded.
This will be the fourth year running that the two teams have taken each other on in a pre-season trial match.
“Obviously the Raiders this year have been a top-four team, so it will be a really good gauge of where we’re at,” coach Nathan Brown said of the fixture.
“Getting out to country areas in the pre-season I think is great for the game as well.”
In 2016 the Knights and the Raiders came up against each other in what turned out be three enthralling encounters, with the red and blues losing 34-28 in a pre-season trial in Orange, drawing with the Green Machine at home in Round 3 and narrowly losing in extra time at GIO Stadium in Round 17.
