The Newcastle Knights is pleased to announce Aurizon, Australia’s largest rail freight rail operator, has extended their sponsorship of the Club until the end of the 2019 season.

This significant announcement for the Club represents Aurizon’s commitment to the team and the Hunter region as the Knights embark on celebrating 30 years in the NRL competition.

“We are delighted Aurizon has made a long-term commitment to the Club,” Knights CEO Matt Gidley said.

“Aurizon is Australia’s leading rail freight services provider and respected as an industry leader.

“To partner with a business that strives for excellence whilst standing strong and making a commitment to the communities they operate in are important values we share together.”

Aurizon has been a proud sponsor since 2012 and have partnered with the Knights on a number of Hunter based community programs as part of the sponsorship.

Aurizon and the Knights will team up on a flagship program to deliver key rail safety messages to school aged children. The program encourages railway safety and educates students on the dangers of train level crossings.

We are pleased to continue our support for the Newcastle Knights,” Aurizon Managing Director & CEO Lance Hockridge said.

“The Hunter Valley is an important part of our national operations and we hope to continue to grow our presence in the region.

“We respect our role as a local employer and through our sponsorship of the Knights we will continue to be an active member of the local community through initiatives such as the rail safety program.”

The Aurizon logo will once again feature on the Knights shorts for the next three seasons with the rail safety program scheduled to commence in early 2017.

The Newcastle Knights, who commence pre-season training on November 1, thank Aurizon for their continued support.
