Utility back Nathan Ross gave it his all in 2016, and was duly rewarded with the NRL Coach's Award.

"It's a massive honour to have the coach back me week in and week out," a highly emotional Ross told Knights TV following the award.

"Two years ago I was in reserve grade, not even knowing if I was going to re-sign.

"I've started putting my family first, I've started putting the Club first and I've started putting the fans first," he said.

Despite such a strong 2016, Ross is already looking towards next year and is desperate to continue his impressive rise.

"I've only just discovered what it takes to be an NRL player, and I know the harder I train and the more I give this Club, it's only going to make me better as a person and as a player," he said.

"Just stick with us."
