Knights strive for 80-minute effort
“The Newcastle Knights will look to channel the same energy and effort they displayed in the first half of last weekend’s match when they take on the Gold Coast Titans on Saturday.
The Knights managed their first 40 minutes well, but unfortunately slipped out of the contest following the half time break.
“I was so impressed with our first half and what we dished up in the second half just wasn’t good enough,” Korbin Sims said.
Throughout the week the team has addressed shortcomings and have acknowledged where things need to get better.
“This week has been a pretty truthful week for us behind doors,” he said.
“Browny (Coach Nathan Brown) let us know (what we need to do). We have worked on it this week and have had a couple of meetings.
“Everyone is working really hard on their game and have to move on from that second half of that game and take the positives from the first half.
“Everyone is ready to go this week.
“It’s a young squad but the younger lads have got to learn from that and can’t dwell on it forever.
“We need to try to stop the bit of momentum they (Titans) are rolling with.”
It’s a three game fixture at Hunter Stadium on Saturday with the NYC Knights kicking of at 10.40am, Reserve Grade at 12.40pm and the NRL Match at 3pm. Don’t miss any of the action, buy your match tickets now.
