It was Round 14 of the 2012 season that Dane Gagai made his debut in the red and blue of the Newcastle Knights, and since then he has gone on to play 99 games and scored 26 tries.

Today at Brookvale Oval against arch-rivals the Manly Sea Eagles, Gagai is set to make his 100th appearance for the Knights.

Watch the video above to hear from the man himself as well as his team-mates on what a special milestone this is.

Dane Gagai

"There's a lot of great moments I've had here, and the fans have been outstanding. When I first got to this Club I felt like I'd been here for a couple of years, when it had only been a couple of months. That's just because of how welcoming everyone was."

Pat Mata'utia

"He's just an honest person. He's always got time for people, especially this year with all of the young players we have."

Jake Mamo

"He's a really genuine guy, and I think that goes a long way in a footy club. It's what you need to have."

Nathan Ross

"He's not a person that wants himself to do better, he wants everyone around him to do better. He wants to take you with him rather than shine on his own."

Sione Mata'utia

"He's just a really loving, caring guy, and it's great to see him reach this milestone."

Tyler Randell

"You know that he'll always give 100 per cent, and he's shown that in the last couple of games playing injured. He'll always do his best for you, and he's a great player to have at the Club."
